My name is Luke Cocks and I am currently at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta, Ga. I have a strong passion for taking photos and seeking out adventure. It is my hope to seek out both of those elements in my future career path.
I was born in Atlanta Georgia and I have lived here my entire life. Although I live in Atlanta, I have strong ties to South Africa. My father and most of my family were born there. My heritage inspires me greatly and many of my photos were taken in my Father’s homeland. I come from a family of artists. My dad is the creative director of his own Production and Design Company and my mom runs a jewelry design company. I have been fortunate to grow up in a family that appreciates the arts and inspires me to keep honing my skills as an artist.
While I love and appreciate all art forms, my favorite medium is definitely photography. I love being outdoors, exploring and capturing the wild in photography. This is when I feel the most “at home;” it is an incredible feeling for me. I am inspired the outdoors and all the beauty of our world. I am also inspired by adventure photography and by my favorite photographer, Chris Burkard, who is well known for his nature and surf photography.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
